What’s The Purpose Of Social Media?

The purpose of having social media is to connect with people from all over the world, showcase your work, post your content, advertise your brand, your product and to socialize with all kinds of people that you can’t meet in person. Social media is a very useful tool for millions of people who are successful with selling their products, but being on it without followers, likes and comments can be boring.
I mostly use social media for leisure. I tried to sell something, but never had much success with it. I use Facebook to connect with old friends and acquaintances and Twitter for content updates and to tweet random thoughts. I also like to browse on Etsy to see what kinds of products people are selling. I also just got into using YouTube this year. I enjoy watching certain YouTubers like Tornado Thien (she was the first YouTuber I ever watch), Happy D. Artist (she does all the art tutorial with timelapses and voiceovers) and Ellen Brenneman Studio (she gives all the advice and suggestions about selling your art and prints).
Creating your brand takes a lot of effort, knowledge, creativity and time. I never actively put much blood and sweat into making a successful brand. With making an art channel on YouTube, it takes real skills to draw and paint perfectly, then it’s the video editing that’s the most challenging. I believe if we work towards building a successful YouTube channel, it’s very possible to gain subscribers, but I just don’t have the drive to go through all of that work.
What are your favorite YouTube channels? Let me know in the comments.
