Why You Shouldn’t Video Chat With Just Anyone

When you want to make friends online, people (who you don’t know) will often ask for a Skype or another app username. Why? They plan to do more than a regular video call. Don’t fall into that trap! Don’t give out usernames to random people who you just spoke to for a few days. Chances are these people aren’t genuine. Don’t let them pressure you! The requests I often get from these people are, to show them “something else.” Yes, this sounds rather strange, but it’s true. These guys are just insincere trolls who go around messaging women in hopes of violating her privacy and pressuring her into giving them what they want.

My suggestion is DON’T give out Skype or other app usernames to just anyone. When you do, you will feel disadvantaged. Do you really want strangers who you have no connection with to message or video call you? DON’T waste your time. How do I know? When you tell them no, they will end the message with “a goodbye.” So, if you want to know if someone is real or fake, it’s quite simple. Just don’t give out your username until you already chat with them through texting for more than six months. You’ll know if that person is worth talking to or if they are worth it to be giving out that personal username.

There’s nothing wrong with only texting for communication. There’s also nothing wrong with making friends online. As long as they don’t make “special requests.” It’s best to make friends with the like-minded, someone you have a connection with. Not some random guy coming out from nowhere, requesting to video call on Skype. These types of people you can’t trust.

I hope you get something from this blog entry. What are your thoughts on video calls with someone you don’t know?
